This uplifting composition is sure to impress. The overriding idea is that the show goes from complete darkness then gradually turning into light. Using concepts such as Night to Day or Evil to Good, there are a myriad of visual ideas that can be developed with this theme. Your visual presentation for The Guiding Light music could be based on upon the notion that the visual and musical go hand-in-hand. Whether you choose to represent Night to Day or Evil to Good, the visual possibilities are numerous. Your design team (be sure to include students, parents and maybe even your art/photography teacher) should listen to each song and decide what images the music evokes. These images would then be used as your backdrops. There are many directions your visual presentation can take. For example: scenes from nature, life events (births, weddings, anniversaries) or even world events (natural catastrophes or acts of humanity). You may choose to use a different theme for each song or keep the same idea through out your production (again, these are only examples but one song could be photos of people, another of nature and so on or each song shows a different aspect of the same idea; flowers or celebrations). As with any Center X Productions show, visual concepts can be changed to fit the needs of your group. This show offers many unique musical moments and ideas that would work well with many different themes and/or color guard ideas.
