Red, green, and blue (RGB) are the three colors used to make a variety of colors (such as in televisions). Instrument groupings (High Brass/Snares, Woodwinds/Tenors and Low Brass/Bass Drums) have their own theme used throughout the show, and could have their own color portrayed on the uniforms (such as sashes or other uniform accessories). After the three groupings are presented in the first movement, they all come together and play the RGB theme. The groups then combine musically (and visually) to create new colors. The second movement, "Absence of Colors," is dark and gloomy to portray what life looks like without color. Visually, the ensemble could play backfield, and then turn to front to show the colors again, play the RGB theme, and represent the fact that color makes life beautiful. The closer is a percussion feature and finale that recaps the entire show and really drives home the RGB concept. The color guard costume and flags are an integral part into the visual impact of this show. You may choose to have the guard in neutral colors, incorporate costume changes (or adding/deleting accessories), or use a colorful and exciting costume. As with any Center X Productions show, visual concepts can be changed to fit the needs of your group. This show offers many unique musical moments and ideas that would work well with many themes or guard ideas.
