Up! Up! and Away! Chad Gay once again has produced an uplifting and upbeat show with plenty of up-tempos. Your students will feel upscale without being too uppity! Okay, that’s enough of the puns (hey, pun has the letters u p also!). Though the concept of “Up!” is simple and straight forward, the music lends itself to a wide variety of creative directions. The music and drill allows you to develop just about any “look” that suits your program. Your backdrops and costumes can be colorful, cheerful and uplifting. Visuals and facial expressions (yes – drummers can make faces!) should also be light, humorous and playful. Other theme suggestions might be the sky (heavens, clouds), parks and recreation, hot air balloon or flight, playtime/recess or vacation.
